Important Provisions of the Rental Program (the Fine Print)

The success of the program depends on getting the books back in good condition at the end of the semester. Unfortunately, this requires some "fine print" as outlined below.

• The security deposit will be refunded (IN CASH) if the book is returned in reasonable resale or rental condition AND it has the original rental price sticker on it AND it is returned no later than one week after the last day of finals.

When evaluating the condition of the book, we will use the same rules we use when buying books back at the end of the semester. Please note that it's very rare that we turn a book away because of its condition but if the book has water damage or is missing pages, it isn't re-rentable and the security deposit will not be refunded.

• If the book is returned after the last day of finals, it may still have some or all of its value but we can't guarantee the full refund of the security deposit.
• If the book is not returned, the student can keep the book but forfeit the security deposit.
• Rental books can also be returned for a full refund (rental fee plus security deposit) if they are returned with receipt within one week of the start of classes or within the drop / add period with receipt and drop slip.
